Jane the dietician has just made my day - she says I can eat and drink. 24 hours have passed since the rig tube was inserted, and the risk of infection is now massively reduced, so I drunk about a litre of water already, and I am waiting for catering to tell me what is available to eat at this time. Otherwise it's down to the cafe for me :-) And I am now off the water drip.
