Bag #5 of 5FU now on, and dripping/pumping

The final bag of this phase of chemo went on about 2 hours ago, and I am absorbing the powerful medicine.  The secondary tumour in my neck is massively reduced in size.

Hi Gareth,

I've been trying to post a comment without success ...

I am so sad to hear your news, I just wanted to let you know that many people care about you and are praying for you right now. Please take great care of yourself and stay strong and positive - you WILL beat this. I don't know if you remember, but my husband and I met you outside the RAH after the Erasure concert (we had a conversation about the music industry and the problems with illegally downloading music!), and we think you are an absolutely lovely person.

We'll be following your blog and thinking about you every step of the way.

- Cal.

Sorry Cal - I had moderated comments on - that confused someone else too. I have now gone to unmoderated comments, so that should be easier. Thanks for good wishes.

Hi Gareth,

I've spent the last 30 minutes typing and backspacing; sometimes two words, sometimes a paragraph. What it all seems to add up to is that although I am so concerned for you right now, I do, in fact, know that you will beat this.

And the next time I'm fortunate enough to be back in London to enjoy a few fingers of Scotch with you again, I want the rabbits to join us. :-) In the meantime, I left a particularly nice bottle partially hidden in a kitchen cabinet upstairs. Feel free when you are ready.

My few close friends are sending their sincere best to you (as seem to be others as they read your blog - how cool is that?!). And if you ever need to vent to someone that you don't need to filter yourself with, PLEASE feel free. Anytime.

Lots of love,

- Jason
